Ides of March – Review
The Ides of March is a political thriller with some big stars.
Each character is well cast and the acting is supurb.
Ryan Gosling is just killing it lately.. and his inner struggles while clinging on to the truth and hope make this movie something special..
The film is based in the world of politics but its not overly political.
It’s more about the corrupt atmosphere that exists in our world and how the players manage to get by.
Ryan Gosling is spectacular as the young up and coming campaign manager.
He will evolve right before your eyes.
Clooney is perfectly dry as the candidate that promotes a better world…but has secrets of his own.
George directs the film too and he does a nice job keeping the story simple…staying away from any in depth political mumbo jumbo..
Phillip Seymour Hoffman matches the excellent performances of Clooney and Gosling as the overworked and overweight campaign guru.
Evan Rachel Wood plays a young intern out for trouble ….her flirty scenes with Gosling are wonderful..and sexy.
This film has it all…story, acting, stars, thrills…
Some may think its too small or simple…I think that Clooney got it just right..
The bottom line…
A well crafted thriller with great actors…$$$$….Excellent.
